DA to march to Premier’s office

Thousands of DA supporters are expected to take to the streets of Joburg to march against corruption and unemployment.

“We will march for support for entrepreneurs, internships for young people, title deeds to capitalise 220 000 families and against the ANC’s job-killing e-tolls,” DA Gauteng Premier candidate, Mmusi Maimane said.

Maimane, who will be leading the march will be joined by DA Gauteng provincial leader, John Moodey, the party’s federal chairperson, Makashule Gana and regional chairperson, Khume Ramulifho.

The march will begin at 11.30am at the Westgate Transport Hub, and Metro police have advised that Marshall and Anderson streets will be affected during the march which is expected to end at 1pm.

“They will march up Marshall Street to the Premier’s office and then onto Anderson Street to return to the transport hub,” Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said.

Motorists can use Jeppe, Bree, President and Pritchard streets as alternative routes during this time, Minnaar added.
