Eskom implements load shedding

JOBURG – Eskom announced that it had started to implement load shedding stage 1 from 10.30am on 27 January.

Eskom tweeted, “#Eskom will implement #loadshedding stage 1 from 10:30 today. It is likely to continue until 10pm. We will give updates throughout the day.”

The Eskom Media Desk appealed to customers to reduce their electricity usage to ease the pressure on the system.

Load shedding schedules are available here.

Eskom’s acting CEO Dan Marokane said, “We have a medium to high chance of load shedding today. Please note that Eskom cancelled load shedding stage 2 last night at 10pm.”
