This is the first year the Dutch cyclist has tackled the Momentum 947 Cycle Challenge. Vos looked strong throughout the race. She finished the race in 2.40.02.

Last year’s winner Ashleigh Moolman Pasio placed second, with Cherise Stander placed third.

Earlier this year, Vos won the Women’s Tour in the UK. She is a two-time Olympic champion and three-time World Road Race champion.

On 15 November Vos tweeted that her race number was on and she was ready to tackle the race.

Till Drobisch of Team MTN Qhubeka won the men’s race.
