Proteas outclassed by World Champions

India won the toss and chose to bat first on a flat wicket in Melbourne. The reigning world champions posted a resounding 307.

Hashim Alma put down a sharp catch from Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan who went on to score a century to pile on the misery for Russell Domingo’s men.

In reply, the Proteas lost wickets on regular intervals as they were bowled out for 177 in 42.2 overs. South Africa next take on the West Indies on 27 February in a must-win clash for them.
