Traffic lights installed at two intersections in Lonehill

Johannesburg Roads Agency is installing traffic lights on Lonehill Boulevard and Crestwood Drive intersection.

With a lot of road construction taking place in the Fourways area, there is some good news for motorists who commute in Lonehill.

According to the Johannesburg Roads Agency’s operations manager for marketing and communications, Bertha Peters-Scheepers, they are currently busy with the installation of traffic lights at two intersections, namely, Lonehill Boulevard and Concourse Crescent as well as Lonehill Boulevard and Crestwood Drive.

She added that the installation of the traffic lights will assist with traffic flow and help alleviate motorists’ stress when driving through the area during peak hour.

In a post on Facebook, the Lonehill Residents Association shared that there was a smaller amount of traffic going north to south on Crestwood Drive and Concourse Crescent as opposed to the east to west traffic along Lonehill Boulevard during peak hours.

The association added that a traffic count will also be conducted at the Forest Drive and Franschhoek Road intersection, which will be placed on a priority list for the intersection to be converted into a traffic signal intersection.

This is a developing story and Fourways Review will keep you updated on any road upgrades or construction in your area.
