Calling all Fourways girls – would you like to join a Girl Guides troop?

Cedar Lakes Girl Guides are aged between five and 19 years old.

The newly established Cedar Lakes Girl Guides troop hosted its first public event in early August, and girls throughout the Fourways area are invited to join the group!

The 12 member troop put on a variety show, with girls singing, dancing and participating in a fashion show for their friends and family in the audience.

The troop, based at the Cedar Lakes complex, was started in April this year and is open to girls aged between five and 19 years old from anywhere in the Fourways area.

“I was a girl guide myself,” explained Pamela Lewis, who founded the troop. “I started [the Cedar Lakes Girl Guides] to empower the girl child.”

“As an empowerment advocate, I strongly believe it is one of the interventions towards helping girls become the best versions of themselves.”
