Lakin, in Grade 6, is a member of the Central Gauteng Aquatics team and will be diving for the title of National Novices and Age Group Championship in Kingspark, KwaZulu-Natal in December. She dreams of one-day competing in the Olympics.

She is experienced in all the diving disciplines and dives on the 1m, 3m and 5m platforms. Lakin is an all-round talented sports star and also plays first team hockey, netball and swimming alongside her twin sister Taylin for Bryneven.

At present, Lakin is focused on being selected to represent SA at the upcoming World Junior Diving Championships and to participate in the 2018 European Championships.

“Lakin is a very determined young lady, who has the outstanding ability to adapt to any sport or situation and is capable of achieving at the highest level,” said diving coach Tamzin Moodley of Bryneven Primary School.
