Two men arrested for stolen vehicle

The arrests were made on 7 January.

Vigilant members of Savika Security and Sandton police arrested two suspects for possession of a stolen motor vehicle as the year begins.

On 7 January at about 3pm officers of Savika Security requested the police for backup for a suspicious-looking vehicle they came across at the Chilli on Top shopping centre, Sunninghill.

Members of Sandton police responded rapidly and on their arrival, they found Savika Security on the scene with the suspects in the car.

After further enquiries, it was discovered that the vehicle was involved in an armed robbery and murder incident in Thokoza, east of Alberton, in December last year. The car was stolen during February last year.

The men, aged 22 and 33 years old, are due to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 9 January 2017.
