The Kyalami Country Club has confirmed reports of a robbery at the club on Sunday evening, 11 March.

It has been reported that a vehicle occupied by the robbers forced its way into the club and the robbers took wallets and cellphones belonging to patrons. It was further reported that the suspects used explosives to open the club’s safes.

Seven suspects have since been arrested as a result of combined efforts of the South African Police Services, Apcan Security as well as the local CPF.

“Our sincere thanks for all that they did in rounding up the accused and the speed in which it was done,” the club said.

The club said that meetings have been scheduled with law enforcement and security services in order to discuss member and guest safety in the club.

No one was injured during the ordeal and the extent of the loss is not yet known.
