Brescia House School welcomed learners from Missouri in the United States as a part of a global exchange programme.
The school welcomed 10 learners and two teachers from the Ursuline Academy of St Louis.
The girls and their teachers visited the school as part of a global education trip. They stayed with families of the Brescia House School youngsters. They attended lessons at the school, went on a tour of Johannesburg and enjoyed some sightseeing excursions.
Brescia House School is part of a worldwide Ursuline network of schools. The schools participate in a Global Education Programme so that learners of Ursuline schools can travel and meet with their Ursuline counterparts, exchange ideas, form networks and develop the confidence that will stand them in good stead in the future.
It is through this networking that the children learn more about the culture of other societies and work to form a better understanding of the world in which we live. The exchange also allows the teachers to discuss educational issues with the intention of forming educational exchanges.
Brescia House School has had several exchanges in the last few years and has established strong ties with the Ursuline Academies in the USA, Brazil and Australia. The school aims to broaden its network with other Ursuline schools in different parts of the world and to strengthen their international ties, making the theme of ‘Global Education in the Ursuline Spirit’ a reality.
